The Principal of Aditya Degree College For Women,Kakinada  Smt.K.Karuna said that  Blood Donor Day observed  at Aditya Degree College For Women,Kakinada.On this  occasion  Red cross co-ordinator Sri.K.Dharma Rao and Adikavi Nannaya University Advisary Committee Member Sri.Manikireddy.Satyanarayana  conducted orientation session for the students. The session was arranged for all  the Second Year Students in Aditya Degree College For Women.

Speaking at the occasion Sri.Manikireddy.Satyanarayana  said that Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. It also has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and child care and during man-made and natural disasters.on this occasion,Sri. K.Dharma Rao said that Every year, on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The event serves to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood and to raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations to ensure the quality, safety and availability of blood and blood products for patients in need.

Academic Co-ordinator of Aditya PG&Degree colleges Sri.B.E.V.L.Naidu said that Today, worldwide only 62 countries get close to 100% of their national blood supplies from voluntary unpaid blood donations, with 40 countries still dependent on family donors and even paid donors. In the Americas, only 11 countries and territories have achieved this particular goal. While another 7 countries have made significant progress towards it in recent years, the remaining countries are still far from reaching it.

The programme was attended by all the second year students of Aditya Degree College For Women, the faculty members of Aditya Degree College and NSS programme officers Kum.P.Lakshmi Bhuvana,Sri.M.Subhramanyam.
